Look at how many different translations I found for "Mirai no Kimi to, Subete no uta ni."
"My Future with You, All in Song" (from vndb)
"To You in the Future, and to All Songs" (from vocaloid wiki)
"My Future with You, the Song of Everything" (from conanak)
"Through Life with Songs" (Honyaku/Winkiller)
"All the Songs with You in the Future" (mine)
"To You of the Future, I Give Every Song" (Supplement Time)
If you know Japanese, or are studying Japanese, how does that make you feel? :-)
So anyway, my 1st pass of translation is 100%; onto pass 2, which is still back at 40% where I left it, and then the editing. I still have a LOT of work to do.

Well, don't mind my title. I just translate it "literally"
- Mirai = Future Kimi = You
- Subete = Everything, All Uta = Song
And the image editting is nearing 70% now, I will sent you after we 're done with the title ^^
I'm by no means a japanese expert (first year student), but with my _limited and baseless_ knowledge I found the vndb one the best sounding one. Although, I still have not played the game since my japanese is really shaky so those particles confuse me with the multitude of meanings that I could give them.
Just a thought, but are you going to translate the sequels too?
Well, reading Japanese is no trivial thing for me either. Now there are manga I can pick up and read, and enjoy, without feeling like I'm doing work. I'm just reading.
It's different with the VN's. The sentences are complex, and it's work. It becomes analysis rather than just "reading." That's why my translation proceeds in 2 passes.
As far as the sequels goes, I won't rule it out. But I decided at the outset that I would not announce "I'm going to work on X next" until I was 80% sure I would be able and willing to do it...
Sounds about good. I myself only have a small grasp of Japanese, and I can quite well see the more complex use of language in visual novels compared to manga (which is mostly conversational).
Since VNs use complex first person narratives it becomes a tad more complicated to read.
But, nice to know you're not leaving the sequels out at all. And on that note, I'm excited to see the finished patch.
Theres more than one sequel?
Yeah, there's 3 of them now.
1. Mirai no Kimi to Subete no Uta ni
2. Rin ga Utau Mirai no Neiro
3. Mirai no Uta to Tsunagaru Hitomi
Trying to find Con Amore :<
You, sir, are a hero and an inspiration to us all!
Any insight into why Miku's so violent in Suzunone?
Beats me, since I haven't played that one yet.
Maybe the author saw Toradora and liked it?
In this first one, Miku's just "feisty". Or something like that. (Does she get worse?)
Since I don't understand enough written Japanese to tell, it just seems that she's more tsun, I can't tell why. But overall you get hit a lot more...
Either that or she doesn't like him taking photos of her.
And then there's that incident (which I still don't actually know exactly happened since I can't read): http://i29.tinypic.com/soxs7a.jpg
